Reservations

Use our online reservation system or give us a call, we are happy to help you reserve a room. Having a wedding or event in town? Give us a call to arrange reserving rooms for your guests.

Policies

  • Check in 3 pm

    For check-in later than 10 pm, please call the main number or contact us by email to make arrangements. While the front desk is not tended to during overnight hours between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am, there is an employee on-site to aid with any problems or emergencies.

    Check out at 11 am

    Guests should return keys to the front desk during check out. Failure to return room keys will result in a $25 charge per key.

    We regret that we cannot guarantee early check-in or late check out. Please call to make arrangements and we will do our best.

    Room rates are per night, based on double occupancy, and can vary according to the day of the week and season. Tax is not included in the rates (11% = 6% MD State & 5% Kent County Lodging). For additional guests, add $30 per person, per night, plus tax, to the room rate. You must inform us when booking the room if there will be more than two people. Room rates for reservations made more than 1 year in advance may be subject to change.

  • All reservations require a one-night room deposit per room at the time of booking. The final payment will be charged to the credit card on file upon check-in.  This card will also be charged for any incidentals.

    For multiple room bookings, holidays, and special event weekends, the full balance will be charged seven days prior to the arrival date.

  • We are a small inn and cancellations impact us significantly, as we may not be able to re-book rooms on short notice. While we understand that cancellations may be unavoidable, we adhere to the following policies:

    • Reservations canceled more than 14 days before check-in will be fully refunded to the credit card guaranteeing the reservation.

    • Reservations canceled 14 to seven days before check-in will forfeit the deposit amount.

    • Reservations canceled fewer than seven days before check-in will forfeit the entire stay amount.

    Please note that you must receive an email acknowledgment from the White Swan for your reservation to be considered canceled.

  • Weekend reservations in season (Mother’s Day Weekend to Downrigging Weekend) require a two-night stay.

  • Breakfast

    Breakfast is included with your stay and is served from 8:00 am to 9:30 am on the first floor.

    Please let us know of any food allergies and we will do our best to accommodate. If you need to leave before 8 am, we are happy to provide another breakfast option.

    WiFi and TV

    Complimentary Wi-Fi is included in each room. There is a TV in the public TV room and TVs in The John Lovegrove Kitchen, The Sterling Suite, and The T.W. Eliason Victorian Suite all with free streaming programming.

    Public Areas

    Certain downstairs areas are public, and tours/events may be hosted during your stay. We limit these to reasonable hours and guest rooms are not accessible to others at any time. Whenever possible, we will inform guests of events in advance.

  • Pets are not permitted at the White Swan. In accordance with the ADA, we happily accommodate service animals.  We do not allow emotional support animals of any type. If evidence of pets or animals is found in your room, a $700.00 cleaning fee will be charged.

  • We regret that we cannot accommodate children younger than eight years old, with exceptions at the manager’s discretion. An adult must always supervise children. Many of our guests come to Chestertown for relaxation and we appreciate guests of any age acting in a manner that respects both our property and the comfort and enjoyment of all.

  • We are an entirely smoke-free facility and appreciate your cooperation with this policy. Vaping is considered smoking. Any room found to have evidence of smoking or vaping will be charged an additional $700.00 cleaning fee.

    We do not allow burning of candles/incense in any of the rooms. Any room found to have evidence of such materials will incur an additional $700 cleaning fee.

  • If personal items are left behind, we will charge your credit card on file for shipping upon your request.  Any items unclaimed after 30 days will be disposed of or donated.
